Alcohol: 14.2%
Grape(s): Malbec
Location: Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina
Tasting Notes: Bold dark fruit—boysenberry and blackberry—lead the charge. Mid-palate reveals tobacco and leather, with plush texture and bright acidity from high-altitude vineyards. The finish is long, focused, and energetic.
Notes: Made from vines planted in 1936. Native fermentation, gentle extraction, and aged 30% in used French oak for 8 months, then 12 months in bottle. Sustainable farming practices and agroecological methods preserve soil and community health.
Food pairing: Grilled meats like flank steak with chimichurri, lamb chops, sausages, venison, and duck. Complements rich sauces (mushroom cream, mole, red wine reduction), hearty stews (cassoulet, beef ragu), and aged cheeses like Gouda, cheddar, or blue.
Winery Story: In 1888, Angel Furlotti emigrated from Parma, Italy to Argentina, eventually founding a winery in 1914. By the 1950s, the family owned over 2,000 hectares. Gabriela Furlotti, his great-granddaughter, revived the historic winery at Finca Adalgisa in Luján de Cuyo, producing rustic, unfiltered Malbecs that honor her heritage with help from winemaker Carmelo Patti
