Alcohol: 13.5%

Grape(s): Pinot Grigio

Localisation: Friuli, Collio, Italy

Tasting Notes:  Lively and savory mouth, consistently reminding the nose aromas, for a refreshing, juicy, intense and tasty sip, creamy but rightly acidic. Long and vibrant finish. The structure is good, with a very slight tannin deriving from the peel. Overall, this wine maximizes the typical bouquet and juiciness of the grape.

Food Pairing: Appetizers and canapés, especially ham, light soups, grilled fish and white meats. Excellent with risotto, for example with spring vegetables. Try it with a nice sea bass with strawberries and mint.

The Domain: Venica’s vineyards occupy an area of 40 hectares and are located on different hills in the Collio region, each one of which, facing a different direction, has its own particular microclimate. This gives our wines an incredible complexity.

The soils of the Collio region, known as “Ponka“, are composed of marl and sandstone dating back to the Eocene period.

These stratifications that are also partly rocky are easily broken down by the weather pattern, which creates coarse elements that initially result in granular soil and later in a very fine one.

In 2020, the Venica family celebrated their 90th anniversary in Dolegna del Collio, focusing attention on each of their vineyards.
