Tasting Notes: The nose is fruity, fresh and well-built. It reveals notes of wil blackberry, flowers and small notes of spices associated with a touch of fresh leather and a discreet hint of vanilla. The palate is fruity and offers juiciness, tension, freshness, a beautiful mineral frame as well as an acidulous frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy raspberry, fleshy/juicy blackberry and small notes of fleshy/juicy black berrues associated with fine touches of liquorice, flowers, toasted, cardamom and vanilla. Tannins are structuring.

The Domain: The 29 hectares of Château La Dominique are located northwest of the Saint-Emilion appellation, on the edge of the AOC Pomerol, on a mosaic of soils: composed to the north of clay-gravelly plateaus of Pomerol, clays blue, to the south of the clay-limestone subsoils of Saint-Emilion.

A soil variety that gives this vintage a unique and perfectly recognizable style. The property has its own parcel of mass selection and thus proceeds to reinforce the presence of Cabernet Franc, to gain even more finesse and tension.

Ideally located northwest of Saint-Emilion, on the edge of the Pomerol appellation, the 29 hectares of Château La Dominique are distinguished by a remarkable terroir, whose excellent plots adjoin the most famous vineyards of the region - Cheval Blanc, Figeac, The Advisor, The Gospel. To the north of the property, we find the clay-gravelly plateaus of Pomerol on which Cabernet-Sauvignon have been planted. These warmer soils, through the presence of gravel, promote the good maturity of this later variety, while the clay brings density and concentration to the wines. To the south, the clay-limestone subsoils typical of Saint-Emilion and the famous blue clays give tension, finesse and minerality to the Merlots and Cabernet-Francs planted there.
