Alcohol: 12.5%

Grape(s): 100% Riesling

Localization: Kamptal, Austria

Tasting Notes: Pale yellow-green, silver glints. Fine herbal savouriness, white peach, mineral nuances, followed by hints of lime, but still rather restrained. Complex, taut, green apple, fresh acidity, citrus-mineral reverberations, and exhibiting length. Definite ageing potential.

Notes: Harvested by hand in mid-October; a portion of the grapes is destemmed and left on the skins for 6–8 hours of maceration. Fermentation in stainless steel, then maturing for four months on the fine lees in a large wooden cask and stainless steel.

The Domain: Our ancestors emigrated from Germany – from near Bremen – in 1650, and we have been cultivating the vine and making wine at our current location in Senftenberg since 1738. Our estate is located at the gateway to the winegrowing region Kremstal, which connects the Wachau with the landscape of deeply carved river valleys, articulated by forest and rock, typical of Austria’s Waldviertel region.
Thanks to the depth and duration of the family’s roots in the neighborhood, we have compiled much knowledge regarding the steeply sloped vineyards here.

A vibrant and practical tradition has evolved from the dynamic tension between the collected experience of generations and our curiosity about everything worth knowing.

We regard ourselves as craftsmen, as mountain viticulturalists with rich past behind us and a creative present day.
