In the 1950s, a family doctor from Vallet, a botanist in his spare time, discovered an unknown bramble in his garden. At the end of his life, still not having solved the mystery of the intriguing berry, he confided his secret to his neighbor Michel Sauvion. Fascinated and piqued by curiosity, the latter undertook to solve the mystery… After much research, what was his surprise to discover that this little fruit was native to California and that it was the result of a natural cross between two varieties of wild mulberry and a red raspberry bush…

From this fruit that he named "his red fruit truffle" and with his legendary expertise in recipe creation, Michel developed a unique flavor that he named Muroise®. This flavor offered such unique aromas that he decided to multiply the plants and cultivate them without further delay.

The craze for Muroise® was total and rapid. The recipe was first used in jams, then in sorbet, coulis, liqueur, fruit paste… But Muroise® still has some nice surprises in store…

Indeed, in 2012, Muroise® gained new followers: Estelle Sauvion-Durand, Michel's daughter, took over the family business and joined forces with Magali Beck, the granddaughter of red fruit producers. The two young women, mothers and friends, decided to perpetuate the tradition, to tickle your taste buds, to tease your nostrils, to make you discover Muroise® and its variations...
