Alcohol: 12.5%
Grape(s): Agiorgitiko, Mavroudi
Localization: Lakonia, Greece
Tasting Notes: A fresh wine made in stainless steel, from Agiorgitiko and Mavroudi varieties, with a name inspired by the twisting uphill pathway leading to the Upper Town of Monemvasia, called Voltes. Deep ruby color, aromas and flavors of red fruits, sweet spices, well-structured with balanced acidity, soft tannins, and a pleasant finish.
Notes: Classic red vinification, with moderate maceration and co-vinification of the two varieties followed by a brief maturing period on the fine lees.
Food Pairing: Red meat dishes, pasta with red sauces, and yellow cheeses.
The Domain: Monemvasia Winery was created in 1997 as a vision of the Tsimpidis family to put the unique but time-lost terroir of Monemvasia back on the world wine map, investing exclusively in Greek, indigenous varieties. Hundreds of hectares of organic vineyards create wines with formality and concentrated character. Four hundred International Awards so far.
