Alcohol: 13%

Grape(s): Turbiana (also known as Trebbiano di Lugana)

Location: Lugana, Italy

Tasting Notes: The wine shows a pale straw color, with aromas of almonds, herbs, citrus, and a touch of apricot. Its flavors are completely consistent with excellent acidity, fresh and long on the palate.

Notes: The grapes are picked by hand into small boxes, pressed as whole clusters, and fermented at low temperatures. Once fermentation is complete,e the wine is aged on its fine lees then bottled early in the following year. No oak or malolactic fermentation.

Food pairing: Lugana DOC is known for its versatility, making it a great choice for a variety of dishes. Its refreshing nature makes it excellent as an aperitif. It pairs beautifully with seafood, particularly lake fish.
Consider pairing it with salads, cured fish, salmon, chicken dishes, pasta dishes, or a variety of other light meals

The Domain: Lugana is a fascinating winery with a rich history and a commitment to quality. Located in the picturesque region of Lugana, at the southern shores of Lake Garda, the winery is known for producing exceptional wines from the indigenous Turbiana grape variety.

The winery is run by Alessandro Cutolo, a fourth-generation winemaker who is known for his thoughtful and precise approach to winemaking. Alessandro's wines consistently receive high praise, with his Lugana wines often scoring 90+ points in prestigious wine guides. The winery's philosophy is to let the unique terroir of the region shine through, with wines that are fresh, mineral-driven, and complex.

Lugana's microclimate, influenced by its proximity to Lake Garda, provides a milder environment with less scorching summers and more temperate winters. The soils are predominantly calcareous clay, rich in minerals, which contribute to the distinct character of the wines.

Marangona produces several wines, including their flagship Lugana DOC, Tre Campane, Cemento, and Rabbiosa. Each wine showcases the unique qualities of the Turbiana grape and the terroir of the region.
