Localization: Jerez, Spain
Tasting Notes: This Sherry with a bright copper color has aromas and flavors of toasted almonds, salt, dates, and wood. It is beautifully balanced with a tangy acidity.
Notes: Aged for equal periods under “flor” and in contact with the oxygen, in Bodega Emperatriz Eugenia in Jerez de la Frontera.
Food Pairing: Traditionally served before a meal with assorted salty appetizers and cheeses, this would also be wonderful dropped in a thick soup for added flavor.
The Domain: There were two arches at the entrance to the winery at Plaza del Cubo, where this Amontillado was aged. Each one was dedicated to one of Emilio Lustau’s sons’ wives: Arco de Zuri (for Emilio Lustau Ruiz-Berdejo’s wife) and Trini (wife of José Luis Lustau Ruiz-Berdejo)
The origins of The House of Lustau date back to 1896, when Mr. José Ruiz-Berdejo, started cultivating the vines of the family’s estate in his spare time. In these humble beginnings he made wines which were then sold to larger sherry producers. This activity was known as being an almacenista. Lustau is nowadays considered a world-class benchmark for top – quality wines. Lustau has repeatedly been awarded with multiple awards and trophies from around the world. These accolades have been achieved by our products and our team, both considered best of the industry.
