Tasting Notes: With young vines coming into production on the Clos du Marquis vineyard, it was decided, in order to preserve its unanimously recognized quality, to create its own second wine. Coming mainly from the superb Clos du Marquis terroirs, La Petite Marquise is subtle and full of refinement. It has a harmonious expression as well as a delicate tannic structure. Elegant and deliberately flirtatious, it will be consumed relatively early due to its large percentage of Merlot in the blend. La Petite Marquise is above all a tribute to all the women who have contributed to the estate's history over the centuries.

La Petite Marquise du Clos du Marquis, born with the 2015 vintage, is the Second wine of Clos du Marquis, a vintage of the Delon family which also owns Château Léoville Las Cases. Produced since 1902 on a 20-hectare plot, the famous Clos du Marquis demonstrates remarkable quality.

The Domain: Le Clos du Marquis, created in 1902, finds its origins in the Petit Clos adjoining the
Château de Léoville, home of the Marquis de Las Cases. Clos du Marquis comes
from the great terroirs of the Saint-Julien Appellation which were not systematically part
of the cadastre of the former Domaine de Léoville. These terroirs are located slightly further west
and are surrounded by prestigious Crus Classés, notably Second Crus from the
Saint-Julien and Pauillac appellations: Léoville Poyferré, Léoville Barton, Pichon Longueville Comtesse
de Lalande... Le Clos du Marquis thus expresses perfectly typical of Saint-Julien: structure,
complexity, harmony, distinction and aging capacity.
