The Domain: The Domaine Michelas St Jemms is first and foremost a family story which started more than 50 years ago by Robert and Yvette Michelas in the commune of Mercurol. The future of this 123 acres estate, one of the few independent estates deployed on four Rhone appellations (Crozes-Hermitage, Hermitage, St. Joseph, Cornas) continues today thanks to the audacity and energy of their 4 children; Sylvie, Florence, Corine and Sebastien. Since their arrival, a new dynamic has emerged: quality requirement in the management of the vineyard as well as in the style of the wines (creation of a range of exceptional cuvées), new experiments via the use of terracotta jars and eggs, and the opening of the winery and tasting room to the general public throughout the year.
