Alcohol: 13%
Grape(s): 100% Sauvignon Blanc
Localization: Loire Valley, France
Tasting Notes: A mouthwatering white wine, unoaked and hand harvested by this family-run domaine that has been around since the 17th century. Guy Baudin was a peer of Didier Dagueneau, but chooses not to barrel age this wine, allowing for optimal freshness and immediate drinkability. With tangy green apple notes, this is an especially good match for scallops, classic goat cheese and poultry dishes.
The Domain: Domaine Guy Baudin has a long history that dates back centuries, and is currently helmed by Lilian, one of the last producers to pick fruit by hand still. The vines are over 36 years old and are planted on marl slopes. Pouilly-Fume is the local Loire Valley nickname for Sauvignon Blanc.
The Rated R label came to be after complications arose when registering the wine with the AOC.
