Localization: Burgundy, France
Tasting Notes: En Papolet’ is rather mineral-driven, showing flavors of fresh herbs, wet rocks, and tart red berries. Serve slightly chilled all season long.
93 Points - Vinous: "Shimmering magenta. Expressive red/blue fruit and licorice aromas show excellent clarity and pick up mineral and exotic spice flourishes as the wine opens up. Broad and fleshy on entry, offers concentrated boysenberry, bitter cherry and floral pastille flavors that tighten up and become sweeter with air. The blue floral note carries strongly through an impressively long, focused finish that's shaped by smooth, harmonious tannins."
The Domain: The Famille Dutraive négociant business was created by Jean-Louis himself after losing 90% of his crop to frost in 2016. The family sources only organically farmed fruit from local growers and uses carbonic maceration with native yeasts to create fruit-forward, terroir-driven wines.
