Alcohol : 13,8%
Grape(s) : Sauvignon Blanc
Localisation : Sancerre, Loire Valley, France
Tasting Notes : This is a soft wine, fruity but more rounded than crisp. Apples and ripe lemon flavors are balanced against minerality to give a wine that is ready to drink. ROGER VOSS
Formerly run by Joël and Sylvie Cirotte, the domaine is situated near Bue, Cher and dates back to the early 19th. The estate dates back to the early 19th century and is situated near Bue, Cher. For generations the domaine was in operation but is now run by the Cirotte’s, in the very capable hands of Joel and Sylvie who are now teaching their children, Fabien and Marie, the art of wine making. With the total land under vine currently at 10 hectares: 60% Sauvignon Blanc and 40% Pinot Noir, the vines aged between 55-70 years old, they cover the medium-to-high parts of the rolling hills, producing wines with consistent focus and appeal.
The vines are planted in 5 hectares of soils composed of mostly terres blanches (calcareous clay & limestone), and then equal parts les caillottes (limestone & gravel) and terres rouge (volcanic & granite). Hand-harvested with 15 day fermentation and then left to rest on the lees for five months until bottling. Sustainably harvested – Terra Vitas Certified.
