Tasting Notes: Deep rosé, an exemplary Rhône rosé with a range of red berry notes. The aromas of strawberry and raspberry enhance the joy of the color.

The Domain: The Domaine Chamfort wine estate nestles into the base of a unique geological formation known as the Dentelles de Montmirail. A majestic range of limestone rock home to green oak, Aleppo pine, cedar, boxwood, olive trees and fragrant scrubland herbs. Here, Vasco Perdigao acquired the Domain Chamfort wine estate in 2010. Before that, he spent several years making wine in the steep vineyards in the northern Côtes-du-Rhône. But it was here in the southern Rhône valley that he likes so much that Vasco Perdigao decided to branch out on his own. Vasco Perdigao works with his partner, Sonia Léorat, amidst the beauty of the Dentelles de Montmirail landscapes at the helm of Domaine Chamfort.

Vasco Perdigao’s philosophy steers his work and his estate:
« We are so lucky to have vineyards growing on extremely varied soils. We want very much to find the authenticity of each terroir in the wines. To reach this goal, we work very hard on preserving the finesse and the fruit in our grapes. »
The entire estate has converted to Organic Agriculture since 2018 (ECOCERT label), the first vintage certified AB in 2021 !! Work done in the vineyard is primarily mechanical to keep weeds at bay. As are sulfur and copper, organic fertilizer is used to prevent disease. Vasco works with long vatting times in the cellar to slowly and thoroughly extract the juice from the grapes.
