The Domain: Cru Monplaisir is a label from the Medeville family of Château Gillette fame. In 2009, Julie and Xavier Gonet-Médeville purchased Monplaisir, which consists of two parcels: one planted on silt below Château d’Issan, the other planted on gravel, and clay below Château Margaux. 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc. It is Monplaisir's proximity to the prestigious appellation of Margaux that makes this wine a great value for the money — a rare find in Bordeaux. Farmed with organic practices.
