The Domain: Jean-Marc Laffitte, owner of Château Laffitte-Teston, began bottling wine from his family's domain in 1975. Prior to then, all the wine used to be sold in bulk. The estate vineyards are located in Maumusson in the appellation of Madiran in the Southwest of France. Soils of chalky clay are planted with 70% Tannat, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc vines which average 40 years of age.

The Reflet du Terroir is a blend of 70% Tannat with 15% each Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. All grapes are hand-harvested and destemmed before being fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine is fermented on the skins for 20 days during which the tanks are drained twice and returned on top of the cap. After fermentation the wine stays in tank for three months before being transferred to 1 and 2 year old barrels where it matures for 12 months.
