Tasting Notes: This is such a pretty wine and an absolute pleasure to drink, thanks to its intrinsic simplicity and brightness. The Castello dei Rampolla Chianti Classico gives us a textbook rendition of Tuscany's Sangiovese grape, with the extra brightness, sharpness and crisp acidity that comes naturally. This wine reveals a profoundly authentic character with wild berry, lavender, garden soil and crushed aspirin

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: The 2020 Chianti Classico is Sangiovese with small parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. This is a lovely wine with a level of punchiness, brightness and inner energy that is never easy to achieve, especially in a warm vintage such as this. That's the Panzano magic, enhanced in this case by the estate's non-interventionist winemaking philosophy. You'll love to drink this entry-level wine no matter what your personal preference in Sangiovese style.

Food pairing: Cheese well matured, Mild game dishes

The Domain: The land on which the Castello dei Rampolla farm stands has been owned by the family since 1739. Much history has passed over these lands, but that of our family starts in the mid-1960s with the dream of one man, Alceo di Napoli Rampolla, who wished to create a great wine. In 1975 our first bottles of Chianti Classico were produced. This was a time when Chianti Classico was struggling to assert itself and to earn the respect it deserved. Alceo then had an intuition and decided, with the help of a great winemaker Giacomo Tachis, to be the first in the area to plant Cabernet Sauvignon and to blend it with Sangiovese. This was the first of the Castello dei Rampolla revolutions, only a few years after the farms birth.
