Localization: Bandol, Provence, France

Tasting Notes: The wine exhibits a deep ruby hue. The nose offers aromas of dark fruit, Provençal herbs, and subtle earthy undertones. On the palate, it is full-bodied with flavors of blackberries, plums, and hints of spice, leading to a long, structured finish.

Notes: The vines are typically over 40 years old, contributing to the wine's complexity. Following traditional winemaking practices, the grapes are hand-harvested and fermented with indigenous yeasts. The wine undergoes aging in large oak foudres (25 to 50 hectoliters) for 18 to 20 months, allowing for the integration of flavors and the development of its distinctive character. This cuvée was renamed "Lulu & Lucien" in 2020 to honor the estate's founders, Lucie "Lulu" and Lucien Peyraud.

Food Pairing: Pairs excellently with regional Provençal dishes such as daube de boeuf, a traditional beef stew slow-cooked with red wine and herbs. The wine's robust structure and herbal notes complement the stew's rich, savory flavors.

The Domain: It all starts with the heart of Bandol land, in an amphitheater of hills and terraces diving up to the shores of the Mediterranean sea. The exceptional sunshine, the breeze from the sea, and the Mistral wind offer a perfect balance between wind and rain… The terroirs of the Tempier domain are various and complex and form a patchwork of plots with geological diversity soils spreading on over a 60-hectare area. The domain has diversified topologies and exposures, as well as old vines. La Bastide au Plan du Castellet, la Migoua, la Tourtine, Cabassaou… Each terroir is watched and worked with care to release its whole personality through four great cuvées.
