Tasting Notes: Among the legendary single-vineyard bottlings from Domaine Tempier, La Migoua is often the most aromatic and untamed. Grown high in the limestone hills above Bandol, the site blends altitude with sun, producing a wine that balances power with lift. La Migoua shows both approachability and depth.

Primarily Mourvèdre, with support from Grenache, Cinsault, and Syrah, it opens with a swirl of wild herbs, black olives, and violet, underpinned by ripe black fruit and a hint of earthy spice. The tannins are present but polished, giving shape to the wine’s generous mid-palate and long, savory finish. There's a sense of wildness here—but it’s beautifully composed.

Food Pairing: This is a wine that speaks of place: the garrigue, the stone, the sea breeze. Perfect with lamb, grilled eggplant, or anything kissed by smoke and herbs. Drink now with air, or cellar for a decade to see it deepen and evolve. For lovers of Rhône blends, structured rosés-turned-reds, or wines that wear their terroir proudly.

The Domain: It all starts with the heart of Bandol land, in an amphitheater of hills and terraces diving up to the shores of the Mediterranean sea. The exceptional sunshine, the breeze from the sea, and the Mistral wind offer a perfect balance between wind and rain… The terroirs of the Tempier domain are various and complex and form a patchwork of plots with geological diversity soils spreading on over a 60-hectare area. The domain has diversified topologies and exposures, as well as old vines. La Bastide au Plan du Castellet, la Migoua, la Tourtine, Cabassaou… Each terroir is watched and worked with care to release its whole personality through four great cuvées.
