Alcohol: 14.5%
Grape(s): Melnik 55
Localization: Macedonia Region, Bulgaria
Tasting Notes: Melnik 55 is an early ripening clonal selection of the broad leaved Melnik vine. An indigenous Bulgarian grape variety, planted alongside Struma Valley, South Western Bulgaria since ancient times. Gentle oak barrel maturation complimented its unique aroma of wild berries and mountain herbs and created a silky textured spicy finish.
Notes: Melnik 55 is partly aged in barrels of Bulgarian and French oak. It has a specific flavor and taste distinctly different from other varieties. Oenologists and tasters all find different aromas in its taste, but some are more pronounced and distinctive than others — wild strawberries, cherry pits, resins, pepper, tobacco, spices and vanilla.
Food pairing: Explosive, multi-layered deep flavors and aromas. An excellent wine for any food pairings or to enjoy on its own!
