Tasting Notes: This is ripe, aromatic, flavorful, and appealingly textured sauvignon blanc. It shows citrus, melon and floral aromatics with beautiful tangerine, nectarine, lime, and chalky mineral flavors along with a touch of refreshing spice. The finish is long with an elegant texture. It starts with great concentration and purity, then it amazes with elegant mouthfeel that evokes high-end Pouilly Fumé. This balance and elegance is rare under $25.

Food pairing: Meaty and oily fish

The Domain: The Delaunay family has been cultivating vines in Loroux-Bottereau, in the heart of the Nantais vineyards, for several generations.

Today, Domaine Delaunay forms an attractive 45-hectare estate, bringing together the region’s finest varieties and an outstanding terroir.

Three different subsoils – gneiss, amphibolite and schist – can be found among our terroir and the roots of the vines dig down deep to draw out the best expression of each of them.

Today our vineyard is home to several varieties, including Melon B (Muscadet Sèvre & Maine), Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Gamay Noir, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Some of the vines are up to 60 years old.

The modern winemaking methods that we have introduced enable us to produce varietal wines with beautifully fruity aromas.
