Tasting notes: An exquisitely balanced rose–like spring in a glass. A must for rosé lovers, it’s both simple and complex at the same time. Salvard has walked that fine line of keeping fruit and acidity completely in check. Delectable.

The Domain: The appellation of Cheverny extends along the left bank of the Loire from Sologne to the outskirts of Orleans. Its symbol is the castle of Cheverny, built in the style of Louis X111. Domaine Salvard has been in the Delaille family since the 1890's, the latest generation expertly managing their 30 hectares with a programme of conscientious (a.k.a.semi-organic) vineyard management. This particular white is a blend of 85% Sauvignon and 15% Chardonnay. After the grapes are picked they receive a short maceration followed by pressing. After fermentation the wine lies on its fine lees for up to 12 months before bottling. The Cheverny Blanc has been described as a junior Sancerre with intense gooseberry crispness.
