Tasting Notes: The Domaine Bart Marsannay reveals a vibrant core of red currant, cherry, wild strawberry, and raspberry, offering pure, lifted fruit expression. Aromatic layers of violets and a subtle herbal lift—fresh basil noted in some tastings— add nuance and charm. Beneath the brightness lies a firm foundation of white pepper, wet stone, and a mineral edge, grounding the wine in its terroir. On the palate, it is sleek and supple, medium-bodied, with fine-grained tannins that provide structure without heaviness. The finish is lively and precise, slightly austere yet persistent, leaving a lasting impression of elegance and authenticity.

Food Pairing: It is wonderfully versatile at the table, pairing effortlessly with roast chicken or duck, where its bright acidity and supple tannins complement savory poultry flavors. Its lively fruit and mineral edge make it a natural match for charcuterie and pâté, enhancing the richness with freshness. Earthy undertones pair beautifully with mushroom dishes like risotto or roasted vegetables, drawing out the wine’s subtle herbal lift. Finally, its elegant structure and persistent finish pair harmoniously with semi-soft cheeses like Comté or Tomme de Savoie, creating a classic Burgundy-inspired combination.

The Domain: Domaine Bart is a wine estate in Marsannay in the northern Côte de Nuits in Burgundy, chiefly producing red wines from the Pinot Noir grape variety. Pierre Bart represents the sixth generation of the family to run the estate. There are 22 hectares (54 acres) of estate vineyards, mostly in Marsannay, making nine different single-vineyard Pinot Noir wines.
