The Domain: A thousand-year vocation for the vine: The toponym " Brigaldara ", "Bragadara" or "Bragaldara" appears in the 12th century in some sales deeds. At the foot of Mount Masua, between San Floriano and Valgatara, in the center of the Marano Valley, a farmhouse must have already arisen, whose farm had been dedicated since time immemorial to vines , the cultivation of olive trees, fruit trees and cereals.
Stefano Cesari and his sons Lamberto and Antonio began a profound renovation of the production structures, the cellar and, above all, promoted a rational arrangement of the vineyards , specializing them based on the most suitable varieties for each area. To the historic properties around the villa of San Floriano are added the Marano vineyards , cultivated in Corvina and Corvinone; the lands of Case Vecie, in Grezzana , dedicated to a special “Amarone Vigne Alte”; the Cavolo vineyard, also in Grezzana, dedicated to the production of an Amarone with delicate floral notes; and the new plants in Marcellise , where the native Valpolicella vines have found their home: Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and the rediscovered native variety of Oseleta.
Today the Brigaldara agricultural company extends over over 120 hectares, of which 47 are planted with vineyards and the remaining with olive groves, crops, pastures and woods.
An extraordinary and unique biodiversity, a true agricultural organism that the San Floriano company has decided to respect and enhance through sustainable practices , in the vineyard and in the cellar. Brigaldara interprets the entire Valpolicella territory , in its most authentic nuances, bringing into the bottle a heterogeneous viticultural heritage , the sum and richness of a territory that has been dedicated to quality viticulture for over a thousand years.
