Localization: Southwest France

Tasting Notes: Cuvée Marine VDP Côtes de Gascogne by Domaine Haut-Marin appears light gold in the glass and unfolds an animating bouquet, which combines the aromas of gooseberries, quince and a hint of mango.  This blend of Columbard, Sauvignon Blanc and Gros Manseng has recognizable grassy notes, accompanied by crisp acidity.  A refreshingly light wine from the Gascony.

Notes: La Marina is Domaine de Menard's top white and is made up of the traditional grapes of the region. It’s a cuvee that you don’t see around very much, but that clearly works here. A melange of tropical fruit, quince, and grapefruit, this little white seems the perfect summer option.

The Domain: The Domaine de Ménard vineyard is located on an ancient terroir of excellent quality; a well known marine geological site, which explains why fossils are frequently found there. The Colombard, Sauvignon Blanc and Ugni Blanc vines, which are used for the estate’s dry white wines, are planted in shallow stony soil.
