Tasting Notes: Elegant, profound, and long. This wine is the reflection of a winery that makes high elevation wines. A serious Crianza, with body and minerality, a fresh, taut sensation, and aromatic tannins through a long finish. Cherry red with medium-high color density. Fruity aromas of blackcurrant and strawberry compote with spicy and toasted notes. Pleasant on the palate with fine, well-integrated tannins, precise volume and a fresh mouthfeel thanks to its lively acidity

NotesFrom the “La Revilla” estate at just over 3,000 feet in elevation. The vines are planted in limestone soils marked by veins of clay. The average age of the goblet-pruned vines is 25 years. The Crianza is a blended wine made with grapes from a diverse selection of plots with varying soils, exposures, and altitudes. Traditionally fermented with indigenous yeasts that are uniquely adapted to express the various terroirs. Maturation is two-part and occurs over 12 months in 90% French oak barrels and 10% American oak barrels followed by an additional year in bottle.

The Domain: Valtravieso takes them to an exceptional landscape within the Ribera del Duero: one of the highest moorlands in the region, at a height of 915 meters. From this unique setting where their vineyards and winery are located, they seek to achieve the highest quality in all their processes, with minimum intervention in both the field and in their productions. They thus achieve high altitude wines, in limestone moorland, with a unique personality and style for this area; they are elegant, profound, and lengthy. Wines that have tension and comprise mineral and fresh notes.

Their vineyards are all organic and they work the land using manual labor with maximum respect and minimal intervention, without herbicides or insecticides, selecting only the highest quality grapes during harvest. Their main goal is to elaborate wines that reflect their terroir which is their identity.

They grow and vinify each plot separately to obtain the maximum varietal expression and they believe that wood should not mask the personality of the grape and the singularity of their terroir. They have great respect for the grapes and seek to preserve the freshness and minerality that their moor offers.
