The Domain: Leading company in the production of Marsala Wine, Florio's production is oriented on Classic high-quality Marsala Doc - Superiore, Riserva, Vergine - as well as Aromatic Fortified wines, Sweet wines, Mediterranean brandy, and typical liqueurs.
Florio covers over 60% of high-quality Marsala wine production and 35% of the whole Marsala market. The Company, established in 1833, is located in Marsala - Sicily on the western tip of the island, in the heart of the Mediterranean Sunbelt (38° parallel), and covers 50.000sq.m.The winery, still situated on the original site in Marsala, extends over an area of 20.000 sq.m., and produces over 5 million liters of Marsala wine, all of which matures in red oak casks: slowly, carefully, perfectly. Florio's 200-year old cellars "Baglio", guarantee the proper internal aeration and steady temperature thanks to its cathedral-shaped building made of tufa covered with tiles. In 1929 FLORIO was acquired by Cinzano and in 1930 it was the first and only Company to market in Italy and abroad the Marsala: bottled exclusively on the site of origin.
