Alcohol: 13%
Grape(s): Sauvignon Blanc
Localization: Loire Valley, France
Tasting Notes: Pale lemon pulp colored, this splendid Pouilly Fumé has classic aromas of lime-peel citrus, white flowers, flinty minerals, pears, and green apple skin. The rich, vivid, and long-lasting palate combines fresh nectarine, citrus, and white currants with a hint of white pepper spice and stony minerals. Long, pure, and balanced, the mouthwatering finish has excellent definition and classic balance of fruit and acidity.
Food Pairing: Already excellent to drink, it can keep in the cellar for 3-5 years. It's a white you can open any time you have a fine seafood meal, or you can enjoy it all on its own.
The Domain: Sébastien Treuillet started in the wine business at just 15 years of age when he began working with a friend’s winemaking family in Sancerre. As he discovered his true passion and talent for winemaking, he began dreaming of running his own estate. After working at other wineries for several years, he achieved his dream, founding Domaine Sébastien Treuillet in 1991.
Since then, Sébastien has diligently worked to improve his estate and his craft in every way. He’s carefully grown his estate and now has privileged parcels in the Pouilly Fumé AOC’s most sought-after soil types, including argile-kimmeridgean, sand, and limestone-dominated “caillottes” soil. To ensure meager yields and high quality, Sébastien employs innovative techniques in his vineyards (including special vine-training and pruning).
