Alcohol: 13%
Grape(s): Sauvignon Blanc
Localization: Sancerre, Loire Valley, France
Tasting notes: Pale golden straw color with a tinge of green. Citrus burst on the nose, with grapefruit, green apple, pear and melon following on the palate. Nice minerality. Crisp, dry and super refreshing.
Food pairing: A match made in heaven with shellfish. Will also pair nicely with pork, goat and aged cheddar antipasti platter, and even some spicy foods.
The Domain: The Daniel Reverdy estate is a family estate. His story begins when Daniel, Cyrille's father, planted two or three plots in the 1980s and 1990s. His son joined him in the early 2000s after studying wine in Burgundy. Wine, it fell into it from a very young age! Cyrill often says that he never questioned his future as a child because he never thought of doing anything else. This passion emanates from the happiness shared with family or friends over a glass, in a plot where you can see the vine evolve through the seasons, from the first grape juice to the bottling.... All those little things that make them proud of their wines!
When Cyrill joined his father in 2000, the estate sold its entire harvest to the trade. As soon as he set up, he wanted to develop the sale in bottles. Thus he left with his wines to tour France between shows, competitions and then quickly word of mouth allowed the Domaine to develop its sales. Today the yield is about 65,000 bottles per year and they are sold all over the world! The work on the vine, from pruning to harvesting, from pressing to bottling, is carried out in pure tradition and with respect for the terroir.
This year, in February 2018, the Cuvée Petit Luce 2016 in red sancerre was awarded a very beautiful Gold Medal at the Ligers Competition in Angers! Similarly, the Sancerre Blanc Cuvée Le Clos de Chaudenay 2017 (Silver Medal) and the Sancerre Blanc 2018 (Bronze Medal) were awarded at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris. See original
