Tasting Notes: A solid, tight Brunello with a full body and a beautiful core of blackberry, blueberry, floral and sandalwood character. It’s very creamy and polished with gorgeous length and posture. Delicious finish. Give this time to open and show itself.

95 points, James Suckling: “A firm, velvety-textured wine and not overbearing, offering red cherries and hints of cedar and mushrooms. Chewy and structured. Excellent structure and a savory finish. Cool, structured red. From organically grown grapes. Best in three to four years and beyond. Try in 2026. 95 points.” –James Suckling, Sep 2023

Food pairing: Pair with red meats, games, roasts, salumi, and aged cheeses. To taste wine in the best conditions, open it two hours in advance to favor good oxygenation.

The Domain: Quality for two generations
The La Rasina farm was founded in the seventies by Santi Mantengoli. Still, only in the second half of the eighties, the work was directed towards the viticultural activity through his successor Vasco. Since 1988, the focus has been even more on this sector, which was rapidly evolving in Montalcino; many investments both in the vineyards and in the cellar have brought the company to its current situation. Since 1997, the management has passed to Marco Mantengoli, a young wine technician, who combines his new ideas and modern technology with his father's traditional and decades-long experience.

In the heart of Tuscany
La Rasina extends to about 45 hectares, of which 11 are cultivated with vineyards, 4 hectares with olive groves, and the remainder with arable land. It extends on the north-east side of the Montalcino hill at a height of 350 meters above sea level. In front of the company opens the Val d 'Orcia Park, which has become a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The vineyards are aged 2 to 30 years, trained with low spurred cordon, and have planting densities ranging from 3500 to 5000 vines/hectare. They are managed and constantly monitored and are located in the immediate vicinity of the company headquarters.

Quality Production
La Rasina currently produces 30,000 bottles of Brunello di Monatalcino, 15,000 bottles of Rosso di Montalcino, approximately 10,000 of IGT Toscana Sangiovese; these figures are destined to increase thanks to the investments made, but always remaining within the scope of high-level production.
