Tasting notes: The Les Cadrans de Lassegue is brilliantly clear, showing a ruby core and a bouquet brimming with pomegranates, fresh rose petals and lilacs. There are savory elements here along with mint aromas that combine with a dried sweetness, masterfully contained by the complex structure and vibrant acidity of the wine. The texture is reflective of its predominant varietal - Merlot, on full display here in its most soft, expansive form. Above all else, the Les Cadrans de Lassegue has balanced fruit. The generous, lifted bouquet of light red fruit, silky texture and finely integrated tannins makes this the perfect wine to enjoy right away.

Notes: This 2018 is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The wine was aged 12 months in French oak barrels. Les Cadrans de Lassegue, the estate’s second label, is refined and elegant, a beautiful and perfect expression of its fruit.

The Domain: Chateau Lassegue is the stunning St. Emilion property purchased by the Jackson Family who made it one of the region's top performers. With Winemaker Pierre Seillan (also of Verite), the Lassegue team turns out exceptional right bank Bordeaux every vintage. Located on the Côte de Saint-Émilion, the vineyards of Chateau Lassegue are blessed with both extraordinary soils and an ideal south/south-west exposition to the sun. Lassègue is Saint-Émilion at its most opulent.

Old vines averaging 50 years of age grow on the south/southwest hills whose soils of clay and limestone add exquisite minerality to their fruit. Rich, aromatic Cabernet Franc married to the dense concentration of old-vine Merlot and seasoned with a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon results in a wine that is at once powerful and elegant.
