Winery Story: Tortoise Creek is a brand of small-production wines founded in 1997 by Mel and Janie Master. In 2008, they partnered with Winesellers, Ltd., the Sager family's importer, to focus on sustainable, handcrafted California wines that offer exceptional value. The brand name comes from their former home in France, and the partnership also extends to Master Wines' French-sourced wines. A portion of Tortoise Creek's proceeds is donated to the Chelonian Research Foundation to support turtle and tortoise conservation efforts.
