Tasting Notes: This wine opens with bright and fresh aromas of red fruit, notably cherry and raspberry, layered with a touch of subtle earthiness and gentle spice. On the palate, it carries a medium body supported by lively acidity and low tannins, giving it a graceful balance and refreshing lift. The overall style is an elegant, pure expression of Burgundy Pinot Noir, crafted without new oak, allowing the varietal character and terroir to shine with clarity and finesse.

Notes: Vines average 50 years old, adding depth and richness. Certified biodynamic by Demeter, emphasizing natural precision and terroir respect.

Food pairing: This Pinot Noir is wonderfully versatile at the table, pairing seamlessly with a range of dishes. Its lively acidity and delicate tannins make it a natural companion to roast chicken or duck, where the wine’s bright fruit complements the savory richness of the meat. It also pairs well with grilled salmon or tuna, as the wine's freshness balances the fish's depth. For vegetarians, a mushroom risotto is an ideal match, with the earthy flavors echoing the subtle earthiness in the wine. Finally, it pairs beautifully with charcuterie and soft cheeses like Brie or Camembert, where its elegance and purity enhance the creamy textures and savory notes.

Winery Story: Michel Magnien represents the fourth generation of the Magnien family, born in 1946, and works closely with his father, Bernard, to carry forward the family’s Burgundian heritage. For decades, the estate sold grapes to cooperatives until 1993, when Michel’s sonFrédéric Magnien, encouraged a shift to domaine bottling, marking a turning point in their winemaking journey. Frédéric also spearheaded the adoption of organic and biodynamic practices in the late 1990s, culminating in full Demeter certification in 2015, a testament to their commitment to natural precision and respect for terroir. Today, the domaine cultivates about 45 acres across prestigious Côte de Nuits villages such as Morey-Saint-Denis, Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, and Vosne-Romanée, with prized holdings in Clos de la Roche, Clos Saint-Denis, and Charmes-Chambertin. Their wines are crafted without new oak, often matured in seasoned barrels or clay jars, ensuring a pure, elegant expression of Burgundy’s terroir.
