Tasting Notes: Domaine Comte Abbatucci Faustine presents a cherry-red robe with ruby highlights, immediately signaling its youthful vibrancy and elegance. The bouquet is layered and expressive, offering notes of wild strawberries, blackberry bramble, peppery spice, and aromatic herbs of the Mediterranean garrigue—thyme and rosemary—woven with a subtle granite-dust minerality that reflects its Corsican terroir. On the palate, the wine is airy yet refined, with a silky texture and persistent red fruit carried by fine, well-integrated tannins. The finish is long and fresh, accented by a gentle spice that lingers gracefully. Overall, it is an elegant, terroir-driven Corsican red, balancing freshness and Mediterranean charm with a sense of authenticity and finesse.

Notes: Gravity-fed, destemmed but not crushed; skin maceration in concrete vats for ~1 month with daily pump-overs; spontaneous fermentation; aged 6 months in stainless steel before bottling.

Food pairing: Pairs well with the hearty flavors of grilled meats such as lamb, beef, or pork, where its silky texture and spice-laced finish enhance the savory depth of the dishes. It also pairs beautifully with Corsican charcuterie—coppa, lonzu, and prisuttu—whose rich, smoky character is lifted by the wine’s freshness and minerality. Traditional Corsican sheep’s milk cheeses provide another natural match, their creamy, tangy profiles balanced by the wine’s red fruit and fine tannins. Beyond the island’s specialties, the cuvée shines alongside Mediterranean fare rich in herbs, olive oil, and roasted vegetables, creating a seamless dialogue between the wine’s garrigue aromatics and the cuisine’s rustic charm.

Winery Story

"I believe in the future because I believe in nature. When you take a step towards nature, it takes 10 steps towards you" J.C. Abbatucci
Experience the signature wines of the Domaine Comte Abbatucci … Biodynamic winemakers and passionate defenders of old Corsican grape varieties, Jean-Charles Abbatucci and his daughter Faustine, owners of the Comte Abbatucci winery, invite you to discover their elegant, fine, balanced and mineral wines. Driven by an unshakeable passion, father and daughter pursue a single goal: to produce wines in symbiosis with nature, revealing the terroir's full flavours.
Considered one of the oldest vineyards in Corsica, Domaine Comte Abbatucci today extends over 21 hectares of granite arenas in the heart of the Taravo valley in Southern Corsica, at an altitude of about 150 metres. Cultivating the desire to offer the quintessence of each grape variety, of which it possesses an ampelographic collection, initiated by Antoine Abbtucci – Jean-Charles' father – this Corsican winery is in constant evolution, based on a firm commitment to research and innovation.
For Jean-Charles Abbatucci, "The beautiful family heritage, carrying our values and tradition, makes us both bold and oriented towards the future. This is what characterises our family. Like our ancestors, we have forged our reputation based on commitment, respect and the quest for good work, while respecting our environment. It is from our roots that we draw the wisdom of growing in biodynamics, while relying on what modernity and the evolution of research have to offer us. In homage to our ancestors, the iconic and limited Collections cuvées bear the names: Ministre Impérial, Général de la Révolution Française and Diplomate d’Empire. Today, they remain our source of inspiration, our humanist reference points".
