Fortified & Sweet Wine
A wine is "fortified" when a distilled spirit is added to it. Examples of fortified wine include port, sherry, adeira, vermouth, marsala, and more.
Dessert wines are created by stopping fermentation before the yeast converts all the sugar to alcohol. Famous dessert/sweet wines include: Brachetto, Aszu, Vin Santo, Lambrusco, and more.
