Tasting Notes: Lemon color with green tints and aromas of ripe yellow fruits (pear and melon). The palate is dry with a moderate sense of sweetness, minerality, and refreshing acidity. Aromas of white peach and apricot, reveal the fruity aftertaste.

The Domain: The history of this boutique winery goes back to the early 19th century. Today, Apostolos Mountrichas, the fourth generation, is at the helm. After graduating in Economics, he studied Oenology, as he has always been interested in his family tradition. He vinified his first wine in 1994 and since then he has won more than three hundred international awards. Apostolos is a Syrah expert, with a passion for wine and respect for nature. He has the ancient native grape variety of Evia; Mavrokoudoura revived and thanks to him Evia is a famous Greek wine region. In 2006 he was nominated for the best Greek winemaker of the year. The motto of Apostolos is 'we are not big, but we are definitely good!'

TERROIR
The vineyards of Avantis Estate cover 20 hectares and extend from central to eastern Evia and are located at altitudes of 250 to 500 meters, sometimes on flat terrain but also on steep mountain slopes. The nutrient-poor soil mainly consists of gravel and gravel-stone. The cold winters, warm summers and the long dry autumn months with morning mist ensure that the grapes can ripen ideally. All year round cold north winds blow down from the surrounding mountains. All these components make a unique terroir that produces high quality wines.

CENTRAL GREECE, EVIA
Evia is an elongated island with a length of 175 kilometers and a width that varies from 6 to 45 kilometers. It is the second largest island in Greece after Crete and is part of the Sporades, an archipelago east of the mainland, in the Aegean Sea. The island is connected to the mainland by bridges in two places. Evia has a Mediterranean climate. In the winter months the temperatures are around 10 to 15 degrees and in the summer months around 25 to 30 degrees. During the long dry autumn months and in winter, cold winds blow through the dew to provide the necessary moisture. The long periods of sun ensure that the grapes can ripen well.
