The Domain: The Domaine grew out of a typical mixed farm. Hubert Reyser bought his first parcel of vines at the age of 14 and founded the current domaine in 1963. Step by step, he completed the transformation to a pure winegrowing business. His son Lionel studied biology and ecology before returning to the family business in 2007, which he runs today. He has expanded the vineyard to around 15 ha and works according to the agricultural principles of Rudolf Steiner.

The winery is situated on one of the highest points in the region with a wide view of the Rhine valley. The enormous variety of soils is due to the collapse of the Rhine basin. Clay-limestone, shell limestone, loess and loamy limestone soils alternate in a motley fashion and give Lionel the opportunity to work with the typical, diverse grape varieties of his Alsatian homeland. The style of the house is precise wines, balanced, moderate in alcohol. Never ostentatious. The particularity of each grape variety is finely worked out. Authentic wines that can age very well in the bottle.
