Tasting Notes: “Wonderful nose, so expressive - baking spices, sweet cinnamon, dark chocolate, mint and blackcurrants. This is excellent, giving a great drive of round and ripe fruit with an underlying core of licorice and mint. It's a full, bold style but with all the elements in harmony. The acidity is there lifting the palate, but the fruit quality is so appealing alongside the richer savoury elements. A gourmet style

95 points & Gold Medal, 2022 Decanter World Wine Awards: "Powerful black fruit nose, cassis, and blackberry with earthy undertones and hints of restrained oak notes. Silky texture, with a great concentration, poised and harmonious. 95 points." –Decanter World Wine Awards, 2022

The Domain: Superbly located in Ludon-Médoc, north of the city of Bordeaux near Margaux, Château Paloumey is surrounded by some of Haut-Médoc’s most prestigious classified-growth properties, including fifth-growth Château Cantemerle and third-growth Château La Lagune. One of the oldest, most historic estates in Ludon-Médoc, Château Paloumey earned “Superieur Bourgeois Growth” recognition in 1932. A dynamic team led by Martine Cazeneuve purchased the property in 1990, replanted the estate vineyard, and implemented expensive yield-lowering, quality-focused, certified-organic practices in the vineyards and classical aging methods in the cellar. Since then, the wine quality has steadily risen to exceptional new heights.
