The Domain: Von Buhl Armand Riesling Kabinett is a beautiful dry organic Riesling from the Pfalz region of Germany. The Reichsrat von Buhl estate has been in existence for over 200 years. Part of the reason for their success is the special attention they pay to small yields and highly selective harvesting. The Riesling grown in the complex loess and clay soils of the Jesuitengarten is especially notable for its amazing wallop of ripe fruit and almost inexhaustible finish, while Auslese wines from the Ungeheuer (the "monster") are voluptuously sweet and dramatic. Long, reductive maturations are carried out in stainless steel tanks in a cavernous, 2km long cellar.
Von Buhl Armand Riesling Kabinett is soft yellow-green in color with a beautiful fruity apricot nose and spectacular fireworks of acidity, spirit and mineral character on the tongue. White and yellow sandstone soil gives this wine its exotic, spicy aromas. This medium-bodied white delivers sweet fruit with a dry finish, beautifully balanced with its lively acidity. It offers rich flavors of apricots, peaches, citrus, honey and spice. It was fermented in stainless steel, with no oak. This wine is elegant and complex, with a long, spicy finish.
