Alcohol: 13%
Grape(s): 100% Pinot Noir
Localization: Cote de Beaune, Burgundy, France
Tasting Notes: This is classic Pinot Noir, it is a very soft introduction to one of the world’s most austere grape varieties.
Flavours of cherry, strawberry and blackcurrant coupled with freshness and structure on the palate and a twist of tannin on the finish. This wine is from an area next door to Savigny-Les-Beaune, Chorey-Les-Beaune and Aloxe-Corton.
The only wine to get 5 Stars and 18 1/2 points in the Decanter Top 100 Pinot Noir Tasting.
Food pairing: This wine pairs well with blackened grilled salmon, beef kabobs, grilled dry-aged beef, beef bourguignon, root vegetables, roasted chicken, savory tapas, duck breast, and cheese platters.
The Domain: Domaine Denis Pere & Fils is in Pernand-Vergelesses, a picturesque village in Côte de Beaune. The estate covers 31 acres of vines in Pernand-Vergelesses, Savigny-lès-Beaune, Aloxe-Corton, and Chorey-lès-Beaune. The winemaking tradition dates back to 1940 when Raoul Denis took over the family vineyards, and today, it is run by Christophe Denis and his wife Valérie.
