Alcohol: 14.5%

Grape(s): 100% Nebbiolo

Localization: Piedmont, Italy

Tasting Notes:  It’s a young wine, but at the same time elegant and fragrant. It has a beautiful, clear ruby red color, with garnet nuances. The nose develops floral and fruity scents, with notes of rose and raspberry.

Notes: The grapes are harvested in top-quality vineyards which, due to the age of the vines or specific climatic conditions of the vintage, we think are ideal for producing a wine that highlights the most immediate and gentle characteristics of the grape. The harvest is carried out by hand, in order to preserve the integrity of the fruit and to allow for, when necessary, a selection of the grapes which are then transported to the cellar in 20 kg boxes. The bunches are de-stemmed and the must moved by gravity into open French oak vats and open stainless steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation takes place. During the maceration, delicate pumping over and punching down are carried out daily.

Malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks followed by aging in large French oak barrels. Bottling is usually carried out in the period between the end of August and the beginning of September of the year following the harvest.

Food Pairing: Well balanced and fresh in the mouth, this Nebbiolo is great to drink in combination with meat courses, like agnolotti with meat sauce or polenta and boar meat.

The Domain: The Burlotto winery is located near Verduno and was founded by the Commendatore Giovan Battista Burlotto in the second half of the 19th century; the wines produced became a reference point in the Langhe soon. This was also thanks to the farsightedness of Giovan Battista, who began to sell wines in bottle in a period in which the wine was sold exclusively in demijohns or kegs. The current owner today is Marina Burlotto, which has 12 hectares of vineyards located in the area of Verduno, Barolo and Roddi, from which obtains an average production of 60,000 bottles.
