Alcohol: 14%
Grapes: 100% Syrah
Localization: Languedoc, France
Tasting Note: Deep ruby-purple in color, this dry and savory red has aromas of plums, blackberries, cocoa, minerals, and subtle black pepper. The luxuriously textured palate features fennel and pepper spice, red and black plums, and blueberries. Great length, full-body, and melted tannins suggest this will drink beautifully for 7 more years.
Food Pairing: Lamb, beef, veal, pasta
The Domain: From a Château established in 1733 and vineyards first planted to vines over 2,000 years ago, this estate has identified 23 different soil types for their 30 different plots averaging a little over 1 ha each. Many of their vineyards are on steep terraced hills with rocky limestone-rich soils and large stones reminiscent of Châteauneuf du Pape. They make at least 10 different wines, each blended from different plots, altitudes, exposures, and varieties.
