The Domain: Bodegas Medrano Irazu, the winery behind Amador Medrano Rioja, is a family-run estate with deep roots in Rioja, Spain. It was founded in 1984 by Luis Medrano, who initially focused on producing young red wines. In 1995, his son, Amador Medrano, took over, bringing fresh ideas and expanding the winery’s offerings to include Rioja Alavesa wines.
By 2008, the winery shifted its focus to single-vineyard wines, aiming to express the unique characteristics of each plot. Their philosophy blends tradition and innovation, staying true to their heritage while crafting wines that reflect the essence of their land
