Wine Enthusiast has loved this cabernet sauvignon vintage after vintage. They rated each of the three most recent prior vintages between 88 and 90 points and picked each as a “Best Buy.” With the great 2018 vintage, though, they loved it more than ever, rating it 92 points and picking it as the #7 world-wide wine on their “Top 100 Best Buys of 2020” list.
Here’s the review:
“($14) Yalumba's everyday reds tend to have a brightness and approachability about them, and this latest Cab doesn't disappoint. The nose is a lovely combo of currant and red berry backed by graphite, eucalyptus and large helpings of spice. It's bone-dry and cinched by raspy tannins, the fruit taking a back seat to lovely layers of texture and tannin. It's an excellent intro to South Aussie Cabernet. Drink now–2028. 92 points.” –Christina Pickard, Wine Enthusiast, Oct. 1, 2020.
