Very pale coloured, the nose shows aromas of green apple and lemon, a hint of iodine and a yeasty complexity. The palate is fresh and broad textured, with a leesy complexity to the citrus fruit flavours. The finish is lively and refreshing.
Varietal- 100% Melon de Bourgogne.
Terroir: 45-year-old vines, planted on a gently sloping, south-facing plot. Metamorphic bedrock: two-mica and garnet gneiss, covered with shallow soil.
Winemaking methods: Kept on lees for 10 months, in underground glass-tiled vats, which are traditional to the Nantais wine region. No stirring of lees.
Tasting: The terroir brings finesse and elegance to this wine. White fruits and grapefruit on the nose. Powerful, mineral-driven palate. Very long finish.
Recommended with Shellfish, noble sea and river fish, selected cheese or hors d’oeuvres.
