Alcohol : 14,2%
Grape : Chardonnay
Localisation : Santa barbara County, California, United States
Winemaking Notes: Grapes are destemmed. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel. 26% of the wine ages for 6 months in new Francois Freres puncheons. 74% of the wine ages in stainless steel sur lie. Malolactic fermentation does not occur.
Tasting Notes: Varner's El Camino Chardonnay is an interpretation of a classic Santa Barbara Chardonnay. Tropical flavors are framed by a phenolic structure of destemmed fruit and new French oak aging. Bright acidity sends the tropical fruit flavors over to citrus and apples for a more tightly coiled Chardonnay in a modern style.
