Tasting Notes: Dense, with a surprisingly tart edge to the richly extracted blackberry, licorice and dusky spice flavors, lingering on the firm, fine-grained, somewhat gamy finish.
The Domain: A tawny-style sticky from a producer who's been in the biz since 1977. After working with prominent winemakers all over Australia, he started his own winery focusing on Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz, Grenache, and Mourvèdre varietals.
