Alcohol: 13.5%

Grape(s): 33% Chardonnay, 33% Pinot Blanc, 33% Pinot Noir

Localization: Kamptal, Austria

Tasting notes: One-third Chardonnay was aged in small oak barrels, one-third of fruity Pinot Blanc in stainless steel, and one-third Pinot Noir was pressed white and stored in small barrels. The yeast gives the sparkling a special creaminess and a wonderfully fine mousseux. This sparkling wine is gripping with nutty overtones, brioche, and a refined bouquet of mocha cream.

The Domain: The family-run winery Steininger is situated in Langenlois in the Kamptal Valley. Lower Austria is well-known for the Grüner Veltliner and this is also the strength of the winery. Grüner Veltliner represents about 80% of their production. It can be found in different styles, from light summer wine to powerful and voluminous full-bodied wines as well as dessert wines. The Steininger winery is also well known for its sparkling wines which are produced according to the traditional method. Excellent base wines and vigilant second fermentation are the keys to obtaining great sparkling wines. All of the sparklings are single vintage and single varietal and represent their typical varietal characteristics: Grüner Veltliner, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Muskateller, Traminer and Zweigelt in red.
