98 Points - Vinous: “My tasting at Sinegal was one of the highlights of the month I spent in Napa Valley. Winemaker Ryan Knoth simply crushed the vintage. In particular, the wines have all the opulence they showed a few years ago, when David Sinegal bought the property, but with an extra kick of energy that makes them so compelling….The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is every bit as magnificent as it was last year. A heady, statuesque wine, 2019 captures all the pedigree of the vintage. Inky red cherry fruit, mocha, licorice, and spice race across the palate. 2019 is bright, deep, and powerful, with exceptional balance and tons of class. It's a stunning wine, to say the least. The move towards a slightly less pushed style, with less overt oak signatures, has paid off big time. This is a fabulous showing. Drink: 2027-2039. 98 points.” –Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jan. 2022

The Domain: In just under a decade, Sinegal has become one of the rising stars of Napa Valley as well as a critic's darling. Having acquired a terrifically situated location long known for grape growing and after assembling an all-star winemaking team, it's no wonder Sinegal is turning heads. The 2019 vintage marks the second release of "Details", a selection of Sonoma County's best hillside terroirs. Owner David Sinegal acquired this historic St. Helena estate in 2013, but it's been planted to vineyards since the 1880s. Veteran grower Jim Barbour tends to the vines while Ryan Knoth, who's worked with David Abreu, Michel Rolland, and Philippe Melka, crafts the wines. The estate is run by Trevor Antognini, who managed such lofty estates as Peter Michael and Sloan. This dream team of winemaking employs traditional farming techniques combined with state-of-the-art winemaking. The estate has spared no expense to secure their rise to the top tier of California winemaking. This property needs to be on your radar.
