The commune of Flagey Echezeaux is situated between the Clos Vougeot and the Vosne Romanée vineyards. The village is in the plain, bordering the Vosne Romanée commune. There are two Grands Crus : Echezeaux and Grands Echezeaux.
The Grands Echezeaux vineyard is bordering the Clos Vougeot Grand Cru vineyard, facing East-South-East, on a calcareous soil.
The harvest is manual in small crates in order to preserve the integrity of the fruit. The grapes are then carefully sorted by hand and then destemmed. The grapes are macerated in open wooden or stainless steel vats for 3 weeks to 4 weeks. The vats are punched twice a day during fermentation. Aging lasts about 18 months in the barrels of our cooperage, about a third of which are new.
